Brazilian visual artist. Lives and works in São Paulo.
Giulia Bianchi creates images surrounded by synaesthesia, evoking textures, aromas and flavors through painting and drawing. Her current pictorial research focuses on collaborating with different communities, challenging in her paintings, the subject- object separation inspired by an animist view of the world and contemporary anthropological thinking.
From an early age, Bianchi (Bauru, 1990), became interested in drawing, which led her to study fine arts at Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation. In addition to graduation, she worked with the artist Henrique Oliveira and studied painting with Paulo Whitaker. She also took part in the intensive drawing workshop by Charles Watson, Provenance & Property, in Rio de Janeiro and was part of the study group with the curator Ana Paula Cohen and artist Thiago Honório.
Between solo and group exhibitions, she received a grant for an eight-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2022. In 2023, she completed another two months residency.
Throughout her career, she has also worked in graphic design in studios and agencies in São Paulo and Madrid, enriching her understanding and experience in the field of visual arts.
