Brazilian visual artist. Lives and works in São Paulo.
Giulia Bianchi’s painting challenges the boundaries between nature and culture, subject and object, inspired by an animistic view of the natural world, in which nature does not exist as an independent entity, but as a network of relationships and perceptions. From this perspective, Bianchi dives into the subjectivity of animals, fruits, and plants, constructing a sensitive field where the gaze is no longer centered on the human being.
Bianchi developed an early interest in drawing, which led her to study Visual Arts at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP). She worked as an assistant to artist Henrique Oliveira and studied painting with Paulo Whitaker. She completed two residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, she was selected for the Paradiesli residency in Switzerland. This year, she was invited to create four mural paintings for the dining area of SESC Casa Verde in São Paulo – SP ( Sesc is one of Brazil’s most important cultural and social institutions).
She has exhibited at institutions such as the Brazilian Art Museum – MAB FAAP, the Blumenau Art Museum, and in group shows at Galeria Marilia Razuk, Gruta, Janaina Torres Galeria, as well as abroad.
Throughout her career, she has also worked in graphic design in studios and agencies in São Paulo and Madrid, enriching her understanding and experience in the field of visual arts.
